Successful Evidence Lifecycle Management Implementation Requires a Comprehensive IM System
There are two key issues to understand regarding ELM. First, it is a platform, not a single tool. And second, it is a business process, which must be viewed in the broader context of Enterprise Information Management (EIM), incorporating Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), Records Management, and an internal control framework in order to be successful. Ideally, establishing such a comprehensive system should be guided by the use of an Information Management Process Matrix, which ensures that IT is aligned with the organisation's business objectives.
